Santa Clarita Fire Department Has Become The Model For Safety
Having reached many daring accomplishments and being full of innovation, the Los Angeles County owes a debt of gratitude to the unique and rich history of the Fire Department. From developing the 911 system in the 1970’s, to the current day USAR and Homeland Security Sections, the Fire Department Santa Clarita people depend on, has become the model for safety and public service around the world.
They have an unmatched ability to arrive at new innovations in the protection and safety from fire. The entire country as well as many other parts of the world has adopted these innovations and applied them to their services.
Innovations over the years include the development and implementation of 911 Emergency System, which, due to its success, was implemented throughout the country. This was also the model used for the call box system along California’s Freeway systems.
They also lead the way in innovations in Firefighting, Emergency Medical Services, Ocean Lifeguards, Urban Search and Rescue, Heavy Equipment, Air Operations. It is these improvements to the County of Los Angeles and the world itself, along with their commitment to the communities where they are stationed that makes them so important to the Santa Clarita Valley.
