Dedicated to providing the children of the Santa Clarita Valley with support, hope and positive role models the Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club seeks to bring people from all walks of life together with a singular goal of assisting the youth through mentorship and helping children to reach their full potential by providing them with hope and positive vision. Part of the International Optimist Organization they offer support and programs that are part of an organization that stretches the entire globe.
Santa Clarita Youth Programs
The Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club closely follows the Purposes laid out by the International Optimist Organization including such Purposes as; to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs, to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people, and To develop optimism as a philosophy of life. Following these purposes and more the Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club is able to best work towards bringing the local youth the absolute best service possible.
One way in which the Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club works to serve the youth of the Santa Clarita Valley is with their kid fingerprinting program, which works to provide local families a free service that will fingerprint and provide parents with an identification card that will allow parents to quickly find their children in an emergency and best locate them no matter what happens. Another important program for the Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club is their Personal Group Involvement program which allows members to better learn about themselves by working with youth and working with each other.

Santa Clarita Optimist Group
Working with the International Optimist Organization the Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club is able to offer several different international programs and contests such as their Internet Safety program which not only serves to teach children of the growing dangers on the internet and how do deal with internet bullying, but it also works to educate adults on these same issues to help them better help their children. They also offer the Junior Golf Tournament, Childhood Cancer Campaign and the Optimist International Oratorical Contest. The Oratorical Contest is open to all students under the age of 18 internationally and offers children a chance to compete for over $20,000 in scholarships.
