Providing the Santa Clarita Valley with an organization of positive role models for young men and woman, the Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club strives to bring people from all walks of life together to aid the children in our community with their growth and development.
A member of the Optimist International organization since 1997 they are passionate about the organization’s goals and ideals such as “Bringing out the best in kids” which serves as the organization’s motto. Committed to doing what they can to mentor and help the youth of their community reach their full potential the Optimist Club has different programs and events for children all over the nation.
Youth Mentorship Santa Clarita
In order to best serve the Santa Clarita Valley various programs and events are hosted by Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club including their Internet Safety Program which is meant to teach boy children and adults of the various pitfalls and dangers that exist on the internet for children in this current climate, with “99% of all teens have access to the internet and 94% of students admitted to being cyber bullied and did not tell an adult” according to the Optimist Club.
Making sure to also educate adults on this important topic in order to best equip them for dealing with the new sets of problems today’s youth are facing is important to the Optimist club.
One major undertaking of of the Greater Santa Clarita Valley Optimist Club is their kid fingerprinting program, which allow parents to have their children get their own identification card with fingerprint made to help parents prepare for an kind of emergency or even just to keep track of their children. Additionally members will have four opportunities a year to attend one of their quarterly meetings where members have the opportunity to receive coaching from a visiting member of the National Optimist Organization that will not be obtainable anywhere else.

Available to local Santa Clarita children is the International Optimist Organizations Oratorical World Championships, which will allow children from all over the world to compete for over $22,000 in scholarships this June.
