The Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue Team is a volunteer group that was formed to assist the Sheriff of Los Angeles County in search and rescue missions or, upon request, any other governmental agency.
The Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue Team service more than the local Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station. This tenacious team responds to mutual aid calls where disasters and other situations outside of our valley require their skills.
About Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue
By responding twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to calls involving fallen vehicles on the sides of cliffs, lost hikers, earthquakes, power outages, and missing people of all ages (just to name a few) this team of rescuers has proven time and time again that no job is too big or small for them. One year this search and rescue team had dedicated more than 4,000 hours to the Santa Clarita Valley alone.
Yes, this team has already proven to be impressive, but what makes them even more awe-inspiring is the fact that this team is made up of reserve deputies who get paid one-dollar a year and civilian volunteers who work for free because they just love their jobs and let’s not forget that all of their members are Emergency Medical Technicians as well.
Despite their non-stop heroic efforts, The Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue Team could use your help when it comes to donations and support. Due to budgetary reductions, funds have been lowered and now this rescue team must rely on their own fundraising efforts in order to continue buying their specialized equipment and to receive the training required to continue to meet the highest standards of workmanship.
Because this is a non-profit organization every little bit helps this search and rescue team out. This heroic team saves the lives of people and children for free and funds should not obstruct and get in the way of that; every dime and dollar donated aids in saving another life.
