American Red Cross

American Red Cross

From the East to the West and everywhere in between, the American Red Cross has been providing for families in need. Discovered in Washington D.C. by Clara Barton and her circle of acquaintances in 1881, Red Cross has been providing relief and comfort to people affected by disasters in America.

But the range of help that the Red Cross has doesn’t end there. Red Cross gives great support for members of the military and their families, deals with blood collection, processing and distribution, health and safety education and training, and international relief and development.

In the time of crisis, or just preparing for one, Red Cross has worn many hats. They have been known as: the Food People, the Shelter People, the Warmth People, and even the Comfort People. Despite the incredible life saving title that it holds, Red Cross is a charitable organization, not a government agency, so they depend on the many generous contributions of time, blood, and money from the American public to support their lifesaving services and programs.

Every dollar you give lets Red Cross continue to do what they do best; save lives. Ever hear the saying, “Teach a man to fish”?

Well that’s exactly what the Red Cross does. Red cross doesn’t just prepare for emergencies and save lives, no, they teach you how to do that as well. From the teachings of Red Cross alone, over 10 million people learn emergency skills such as CPR every year.

Learn to Save a Life

American Red Cross MedicalYes Red Cross will always come when you’re in need, but in an emergency situation time is a factor, which means that waiting is not the greatest option. By taking these classes from Red Cross you can help yourself and others in the “now” moment until Red Cross arrives with further assistance.

Whether you’re donating money, donating blood, or taking a class from Red Cross, every thing you do matters equally because it helps yourself and others all the same.

No one should ever be put into a helpless situation, so help the helpers. Help Red Cross because in return you’re really helping, not just others, but yourself.
