Angelo Romanelli created Buongusto when he was a student at USC. Angelo was told by a professor to create an original business from scratch and plan for the business’ success. After much praise from professors, staff, and fellow students at USC, Angelo and the Romanelli family knew that they had something special.
The Romanelli Family founded Buongusto Italian Ice in 1999, with the mission to share some of the great tastes of the Old Country with their new home in California.
What does Buongusto mean?
Buongusto means “great taste” in Italian. This company believes that “Italian ice is the most exceptionally smooth and creamy, highest quality and boldest tasting frozen desert available.”
Buongusto aims to serve you the greatest of gourmet frozen ice treats, always using real fruit.
They have perfected their Italian ice through research and plenty of experimentation. The research and experimentation the Romanelli Family put into Buongusto is what has allowed them to become a master in their unique flavoring.

The family grew to find out that the Italian Ice niche was empty, and the next thing to do for them was to create a business model and open their doors.
Buongusto was awarded “Best of L.A.” in their first year of business, allowing for the quick expansion of their business.
They have locations all across Southern California, one located at Six Flags Magic Mountain-Hurricane Harbor in Santa Clarita. With their mission to expand their business worldwide, they have also expanded into mobile locations and wholesale accounts as well.
You can find Buongusto at a number of events including large county fairs, community events, grand openings, and the 2019 KHTS Home & Garden Show.
Aside from Italian ice, Buongusto has gelato available in a wide variety of flavors. This gourmet flavored ice company can also create any flavor a customer can imagine. Customers can find a list of their great tasting flavors available online at their website.
