Cancer Treatment in Santa Clarita
City of Hope was founded in 1913 by a group of volunteers called the Jewish Consumptive Relief Association (JCRA). The JCRA was guided by their compassion to help people who were afflicted by tuberculosis. They set a goal to raise money to open a free-of-charge, nonsectarian tuberculosis sanatorium.
By the mid-1940’s, thanks to the discovery of antibiotics, tuberculosis was on the decline in the United States. City of Hope committed themselves to tackling the next big medical challenges society would face such as cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. Today they are one of fourty-nine comprehensive cancer treatment centers in the nation.
They offer a wide range of medical services such as a robust oncology department, chemotherapy, surgery, urology, clinical trials and consultations for patients.
City of Hope is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people with cancer, diabetes and other serious illnesses. Their mission is to change the future of healthcare by using science. They endeavor to turn hope into a reality. Research associates, scientists, doctors, nurses and health professionals come together to help fight disease. They work towards saving lives and giving people a chance to live healthier lives. Every discovery City of Hope makes and every new treatment they create helps give people the chance to have longer, better and more full lives.
