Edison encourages homeowners to make energy-saving home improvements through programs such as the rebate programs that provide returns of up to thousands of dollars for the purchase of new, energy saving appliances and home upgrades, such as the installation of wall and floor insulation, energy-efficient windows, and duct sealing, among others.

When our communities thrive, everyone benefits. To that end, Edison invests millions of dollars and lots of volunteer manpower in local non-profits. Southern California Edison contributes to organizations that help meet the many needs in our region’s diverse communities.

In 2011, the company gave a total of more than $17 million and in 2012, their expanded grants program focused on four core giving areas: education, the environment, public safety and preparedness, and civic engagement.

Saving Energy, Saving Money

In 2011, Edison delivered 87.34 billion kilowatts per hour of electricity powered a total of over 14 million people, 180 cities, 11 counties, 50,000 square miles of service area, 5,000 large businesses, and 280,000 small businesses.

Over the past decade, Edison has heightened its focus on renewable energy. We invested in wind farms, and became one of the leading suppliers of wind energy to utilities nationwide. One of these efforts is the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project, a $2.1 billion infrastructure system that will deliver wind power to as many as 3 million homes in Southern California.

Southern California Edison’s ongoing innovation enables them to expand on our century-old commitment to renewable power, and customer-friendly service.
