Counselors here work with students on every part of the college application process. They even help you out with career choices. They start with your career interests and major choices, the move on to appraise your academics, activities, work and volunteer experience and evaluates your desired college culture. This information is used to create a unique list of 12-18 colleges that fit the student’s academic, social and career needs. Once the student researches all the colleges and sees which ones they want to add to their final list, and then the application work starts for real. Counselors start students with the process of creating their college application profiles, they help them brainstorm and write their essays, create good resumes for the people who are writing recommendation letters and the completion of supplements. The counselors review the complete application before it is submitted to make sure that the application is accurate and the best version that it can be. They also suggest campus visits and they conduct mock interviews so that students will be prepared if they need to interview for a college.
