Striving to shatter the cycle of abuse, the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley provides a number of services in the hopes of providing safety and shelter to victims in the area. The DVC hopes to help change lives for the better by helping build and create healthy relationships through education, prevention, and intervention, all in the hopes of decreasing the number of domestic abuse victims in the area as well as the country.
Offering a number of services to those seeking help, the DVC helps victims by providing counseling, safety planning, and case management. The DVC understands that any exit from a domestic relationship should be handled with caution, and may require a safe place to stay for women and even children. That is why the DVC offers emergency shelter for up to 30 days where they can stay in safety while being provided with food, clothing, and emotional support. Advocates at the DVC will also help prepare victims for their transition to safer lives by assisting in creating safety plans, advising the preparation of escape kits, and support in court.
