Bennett’s Honey Farm
Bennett’s Honey Farm is a family business operating out of Fillmore, California since 2010. The company’s organic honey produced in a 100 percent solar powered facility. Rather than being filtered, the honey from Bennett’s Honey Farm is gravity strained in order to keep its natural components. In addition to the honey being certified organic and kosher, the facility meets the cleanliness and safety standards set out by the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems for unfiltered raw honey.
Known alternately as Topanga Quality Honey and Piru Canyon Honey, jars from Bennett’s Honey Farm can be found in specialty markets, such as Whole Foods and Lassen’s Natural Foods & Vitamins, as well as in open-air markets and fruit stands across Southern California in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
Visitors of the Bennett’s Honey Farm facility can sample various types of raw unfiltered honey made from sources such as cactus, orange, eucalyptus, avocado and sage, among others. Along with the gourmet honey it is best known for, Bennett’s Honey Farm has other products, including barbecue sauces, candles, honeycomb squares, honeycomb chunks, royal jelly, propolis, bee pollen and handmade beeswax soap. More recently, honey tea stirrers, Hawaiian honey and blueberry honey have been added to the line.
Bennett’s Honey Farm also offers honey extraction services for beekeepers at 16 cent per pound. Honey bottling is available at $9 for a box of 12. Jars, bottles, lids and labels are also offered for an additional cost, along with design recommendations for packaging.
Various products from Bennett’s Honey Farm have received blue ribbons at both Ventura and Los Angeles County fairs and is known for producing high quality honey. With their unconventional approach to producing honey, the team at Bennett’s Honey Farm has made their products stand out, providing some of the best organic honey available in Santa Clarita.
