Proudly serving the Santa Clarita Valley since 1991 the City of Santa Clarita Transit currently is providing local residents with nine local fixed routes, commuter services between Santa Clarita and WestWood, Van Nuys, downtown Los Angeles, Century City and Warner Center; as well as express bus routes to the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley.
City transit additionally provides a paratransit service seven days a week that assists seniors and disabled members of our community in their transportation needs. Using their modern fleet of busses that run on Compressed Natural Gas and are all wheelchair accessible as well as being lower to the ground allowing passengers to board without the need of stairs.
Santa Clarita Public Transit
The City of Santa Clarita Transit is proud to offer their Dial-A-Ride service which allows disabled and senior residents curb to curb transit straight from their home to their destination, during regular hours this service is exclusive to elderly and disabled residents. However after 6:00 pm the service becomes open to all residents. In order to take advantage of this program all you need to do is call their Dial-A-Ride line provide any necessary information for unrestricted use (not necessary after 6:00 pm) and pay a low fare of just $2 with small children and personal care attendants being allowed to ride for free.
The Transit Maintenance Facility (TMF) is the first state-of-the-art “green” building for the City of Santa Clarita and was designed and constructed using a variety of high-quality, environmentally sensitive strategies.. Through an unconventional use of materials, the Transit Maintenance Facility has become one of the first LEED-certified straw-bale buildings in the world. The City of Santa Clarita is proud to lead by example, utilizing the unique Transit Maintenance Facility to introduce the public to green building methods. The innovative techniques utilized through this facility, position TMF as a leader in new, smart sustainable building methods.
Bus Services Santa Clarita
The city transit service offers a range of different transportation vehicles in its fleet such as the unique Articulated Busses which seat 60 passengers and are 60 feet long, also known as a “Caterpillar” or “Bendy” bus due to the non rigid section in the middle of the bus that allows it to make city turns with its long length.
